Ramboll consults businesses and municipalities on means of reduction of climate gasses, based on risk assessments. We help our customers quantify the financial consequences of, and find alternative solutions for, problems related to climate change.
For energy-consuming companies, private as well as public, we carry out an overall assessment of potential areas for reducing the emission of greenhouse gasses. We propose solutions such as the use of renewable energy, efficient distribution systems and energy-reducing measures. We consider issues such as the operation of building-mass, transport and land use planning.
Our calculation of climate gasses and especially CO2 reductions is based on Ramboll’s climate scenario model. Adapting to each specific situation, the calculator is a useful tool to prepare climate strategies or assess specific reductive measures in different industries. Depending on our customers’ needs we determine the carbon footprint of the entire business or single products or services.
Climate adaptation is included in the strategy and model calculations, minimizing challenges related to extreme rain or raising water level due to climate changes.
A municipality has extensive influence on the Co2 emissions, in its capacity of employer as well as regulatory authority. In the Danish municipality of Herning, Ramboll mapped the CO2 emissions from all significant sectors, including electricity and heating, consumption, traffic and agriculture.
The mapping determined the CO2 emissions of the citizens as well as businesses and the municipality’s own emissions.
At Nykredit, a leading Danish supplier of financial services, Rambøll has consulted on the preparation of a climate and environment policy and strategy, including a climate account and an environmental management system, contributing to a systematic daily handling of climate related issues.
